What We’re All About

With 30 years of estimating experience, CivilEstimator.com is one of the most well-known and respected freelance Civil Estimating services in Western Canada. CivilEstimator.com provides expert estimating services using highly advanced estimating software such as HCSS, QuestMX and Google Apps for Business.

Because our offices are virtual, we keep our costs low – our fees typically represent only 2% of revenues from jobs that we win for our clients. In other words, if you spend $200 in fees for our services, you’ll likely see $10,000 in increased revenue going to your company.

Who Are Our Typical Clients?

The companies that tend to work with us most are small-to-mid-sized excavating companies, with six to 12 pieces of heavy equipment. We work well with them for two reasons:

  1. They’re too small to hire a full-time estimator
  2. They’re too big for the owner to bid all the work

Our clients tend to be companies that can’t afford big overhead, but need sophisticated services. They’re also sometimes smaller companies with big growth plans, and need our help to bid larger jobs that they’re not used to putting numbers together for. Here’s a short list of some of the companies we’ve worked for:

Regehr Contracting

Vertex Excavating

Tiegen Excavating

What Type of Jobs Can We Help You Bid?

Let’s face it, not everyone has the same definition of what a Civil Estimator is. To clear up any confusion, the types of projects we typically estimate are subdivisions, commercial developments, and municipal work. Each of these projects typically involve:

  • Site grading
  • Bulk excavation
  • Underground utilities (storm & sanitary sewers, waterworks)
  • Civil works for Electricity & Data Connections
  • Roadworks (gravel base & sub-base, asphalt paving, concrete curbs & walks)
